Katy Perry, devastated by her "failed" marriage, is receiving comfort and support from an unlikely source—her ex. Not Russell brand, her ex-boyfriend whom she dated before she met the rubber-faced Arthur star.

Katy Perry's ex-beau, Gym Class Heroes frontman Travie McCoy, has been a supportive and sympathetic friend following her break-up with Russell Brand. McCoy says he understands what Katy is going through, and he's trying to help her get through this traumatic period in her life. That's an incredibly generous attitude since he and Katy were once hot and heavy back in the day, circa 2008-2009. Then their relationship fell apart.

"There will always be a connection between us, I'll always be there for her," explained McCoy. "When you've been in a relationship like ours, you will always make time for that person. Katy was there for me through my hard times when things were really bad."

Obviously, McCoy and Katy Perry kept in touch after their break-up. However, unlike many former lovers who claim they're still friends, Brand and McCoy really are. "Life goes on," McCoy continued. "I have regrets about the way things ended, but there are no grudges anymore. I'll always be there for her, she knows that."

As for why things didn't work out between his ex girlfriend and her soon-to-be-ex-husband, Russell Brand, McCoy has his theories about that as well. "Do I think she got married to Russell too fast?" he added. "When you're feeling it, you're feeling it. You can't help how you feel."

So, there you have it. It's good that Katy Perry has a such a good friend to help her through these difficult times. On the other hand, if, as the rumor mill suggests, her marriage to and divorce from Russell Brand was just a cleverly executed publicity stunt for both parties, it's good she has Travie McCoy to help the devious couple perpetuate the deception.

Immersing herself in the Super Bowl XLVI festivities, Katy Perry turned up for DIRECTV's Sixth Annual Celebrity Beach Bowl After Party in Indianapolis, Indiana. The blue-haired "Last Friday Night" singer strutted her stuff on the Victory Field arrivals carpet while joining fellow partygoers including Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, David Arquette, Christina McLarty, Jane Krakowski, Mehcad Brooks and Christopher Meloni.

Prior to the DIRECTV soiree, Miss Perry made an appearance at Indy's Murat Theatre for the 2012 NFL Honors ceremony. The recently divorced 27-year-old joined NFL star Cam Newton in presenting an award, during which time she playfully said to the Carolina Panthers quarterback: "You'll be the first straight man I've had a photo with in a long time, so live up to it.""I am," a grinning Cam replied, getting a big laugh from the star-laden audience in attendance.

Katy Perry hasn't been too open about her divorce in the public, like her estranged husband Russell Brand. He is out doing yoga, making movies and supposedly still dating. Katy, however, is apparently taking a more common approach. She is supposedly getting lots of therapy, according to a source who spoke with Perez Hilton. "Katy has always believed in therapy. She has always been pretty good about going to a therapist and she's still going now. When she's on tour she does phone sessions and is also leaning on her friends, like Rihanna," the source told Perez Hilton.

Although Katy Perry is going through therapy to move on, one has to wonder what she is going to therapy for. If she has been going through therapy while married to Russell Brand, she could have had some personal issues with drugs and alcohol, which are supposedly the reasons why Russell filed for divorce.

So is it therapy to move on or therapy to drop the booze and drugs? Whatever the reason, it is good to see that Katy is getting help to get her life back on track. And if she does have some problems, the last thing she needs is an unsupportive partner who keeps focusing on his own past problems with alcohol and drugs.

Katy Perry has been confirmed to perform at the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year ceremony in honour of Paul McCartney. The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer joins the likes of Coldplay and Alicia Keys at the event which will pay tribute to The Beatles star's artistic achievements and philanthropic work. This is the second event in which Katy Perry has been confirmed to appear at following the announcement earlier this week that she would perform live on stage at the this year's Grammys.

The charity event is regarded as one of the highlights of the Grammys week and will also feature performances by such acts as Foo Fighters, Neil Young and Tony Bennett. Meanwhile, reports have been suggesting 'The One That Got Away' singer could be set to become the focus for a new 3D documentary movie.

Katy Perry could be starring on the big screen in 3D in a new music documentary film. The Firework singer is in talks with Paramount Studios and Imagine Entertainment about creating a 3D movie which would include footage of her live performances, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It seems Katy's movie would be modelled on Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber's concert film, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which reportedly raked in more than 70 million dollars in the US alone when it was released last year.

Deadline reports that while the movie would include footage of Katy performing, it would also tell the story of the 27-year-old growing up and becoming a pop sensation.

The deal is in the early stages but the studio and Katy - who recently split from husband Russell Brand - are both said to be keen to get the project off the ground.

For someone who’s going through a divorce, Katy Perry hardly showed any signs of strain when she stepped out for the first time since the divorce announcement in December. In fact, it looked like she was having a blast at a charity event in Las Vegas over the weekend. She was beaming happily to everyone as she stood in her sky-high strappy heels!

If Katy was hoping for some height boost, she definitely got it. According to some sources, the pair measures around 7 inches! OMG it’s a wonder she can still walk! I think she could hardly that’s why she held tight to her escort, her jeweler designer friend Markus Molinari. Nevertheless, Katy looked great in those heels, embellished LBD and aquamarine hair!

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer is all smiles as she attends charity event in Las Vegas this weekend. Katy Perry was pictured looking glamorous and happy as she hit the red carpet for the first time since news broke of her forthcoming divorce to husband Russell Brand.

The 'Teenage Dream' singer was sporting her new blue hairstyle and an elegant short black dress as she posed for pictures with designer and good friend Markus Molinar in Las Vegas over the weekend.

The star was in attendance for the jewellery designer's charity event at The Mirage Hotel's 1OAK nightclub and completed her outfit in an over-sized pair of steel capped high heels.

The star has rarely been pictured since the announcement of her marriage breakdown at the end of last year and recently wrapped up her worldwide 'California Dreams' world tour with shows in the Philippines and Indonesia.

Katy Perry is being comforted by a hunky dancer following her split from Russell Brand. The 'Firework' singer and the British actor announced the end of their 14 month marriage in December and friends say Malik Le Nost, a backing dancer on Katy's 'California Dreams' world tour, has been helping her cope although the relationship is strictly platonic.

A source told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "During the tour last year, Katy became extremely close to her band and backing dancers. They all lived in each other's pockets and everyone knew how much Katy was suffering - not least of all Malik.

"Throughout her trip to India, Katy spent a lot of time with him the pair would often stay up late into the night chatting and drinking in the hotel bar. When they were dancing on stage together, it was clear she only had eyes for him.

"In sound check on the day of the last show, the pair started falling about in fits of giggles over a private joke. It was as if they were a couple. Malik shot her cheeky winks across the stage and showered her with hugs. Katy was clearly loving the attention."Despite the chemistry between Katy and Malik, friends say the pair have not taken their relationship further yet. The source added: "They insist they are just good friends but their closeness has set tongues wagging in the camp."

Singer Katy Perry and ex-husband Russell Brand are being used as bait for a new worm making the rounds of social networking giant Facebook, a computer security firm warned.  Panda Security said the cyber-criminals behind this latest Facebook malware are attempting to turn users’ curiosity and interest in celebrities against them.
 
“Once again, user curiosity becomes cyber-criminals’ best ally. Scammers exploit people’s interest in celebrities to infect users. We have recently detected a new Facebook scam that uses a fake video of singer Katy Perry and ex-husband actor Russell Brand to trick users,” it said in a blog post.
 
It said a user who clicks on the link claiming to lead to the video will be taken to a fake Facebook page where he or she is invited to download a plug-in to watch the video.  Panda Security said the page shows more than 4,000 people have already clicked the “Like” button, which it said is used by the scammers to trick victims into believing that the video is legitimate.
 
“If the user tries to play the video, the worm will act differently depending on the browser used. If you use Firefox or Chrome, the worm installs a browser plug-in and uses it to post the scam to the victims’ friends’ pages. On Internet Explorer, the worm displays an age verification page to access an application called ‘X-Ray Scanner,’” it said.
 
But before the user can take further action, the browser takes them to a typical scam site where he or she is asked to enter his or her phone number.  Giving away the phone number may spell financial trouble for the user, who will start receiving unwanted premium rate text messages.
 
Panda Security offered tips on how to avoid falling victim to this type of scam:
 
Be wary of websites offering sensational videos or unusual stories.
Before you click on a link sent by one of your contacts, make sure it has been intentionally sent by your friend and it is not the result of a massive scam like this one.
Don’t accept friend requests from people you don’t know. This will help keep your privacy safe.
Always keep your computer’s operating system and Web browsers up to date, and make sure you have an up-to-date antivirus solution installed
 
If one may have fallen victim to the trap, Panda Security offered these tips:
 
Check your browser plug-ins and remove any suspicious ones.
Check the applications that have permission to access your Facebook account, and delete those you don’t know.
Change your Facebook account password. If you use the same credentials to sign in to other services as well, change them too. It is always better to take all necessary precautions.
