Katy later returned to Twitter to acknowledge the song choices, saying: 'Thanks for all your great suggestions for the next single today! Your voice has been heard! We're on the same page...'There were a couple of awkward moments in Katy's impromptu poll as some fans suggested Peacock , a track which had in fact already been released and only reached No.125 in the UK singles chart, being critically panned for its simplistic rhythm and not-so-subtle double entendre.
Aside from this howler Katy has enjoyed huge success with her latest album Teenage Dream. Katy Perry is the first female artist in 11 years to score three number one singles from the same album on Billboard's Hot 100. Her latest single Firework follows California Gurls and Teenage Dream into the top spot and was also chosen for one of X Factor winner Matt Cardle's last performances in the final of the show.
