In the wonderful world of Hollywood, no celebrity is safe from the baby bump speculations. I guess you could consider them a downside of being famous, but with their paychecks it's only a miniscule "bump" in the road. So now that Jessica Simpson finally fessed up about her impending motherhood, it's time to set our sights on a new victim and the winner is -- Katy Perry!
A source told the New York Post that the singer is taking time off to “work on her family," which could easily mean any number of things, but only one idea comes to mind: it's baby time! Additionally, the site reportedly said that the pop star will rap up her California Dreams tour next week and recently informed her managers she’ll be taking a year off from music in order to spend more time with her husband, Russell Brand and to start a family. Daddy Russell does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it?
As of right now, Perry denies she's pregnant and told fans at her Madison Square Garden concert on Wednesday that she’s not with child but rather just bloated from too much “New York City pizza.” And while that seems easy enough to believe, you still wonder if she's being entirely honest. Think about it -- if she's not already pregnant, then she plans to be pretty soon. Why else would she want to take such a significant amount of time off?
But if that's the case, she better work quickly since I hear those babies take a long time to produce (9 months or something like that). Unless of course she wants to start working again mid-pregnancy (hey, if Beyoncé can do it!). Although I may be hesitant to watch a music video featuring a pregnant Perry dancing around in scantily clad outfits. Just kidding -- I would totally still watch it. Let the baby bump rumors begin!
