Katy Perry has shared a glimpse from behind the scenes of the video for her hit, The One That Got Away.
The 27-year-old Teenage Dream star was transformed into a wrinkly old lady for the clip, which tells a tale of lost love and regret. She spent more than seven hours in the make-up chair being carefully and meticulously aged by a team of artists for the video.

'You're going to see me really young and really old. And I hope you still love me,' she says in the MTV special, The Making Of 'The One That Got Away. Katy recruited Los Angeles based New Zealand make up and prosthetics guru, Dominie Till, who has worked on the Lord Of The Rings and King Kong among others. Till described the process as 'difficult', adding: 'It involves so many people and takes so many stages.'
At one point, Katy's face is covered in blue goop as the team make a mould of her features. It was then turned into six prosthetic pieces which were then painstakingly applied back on. Before her transformation, Katy joked about how she was going to get into the character of an old woman. 'I might wear Depends, maybe write out a will or something,' she said.
The track is currently number five on the Billboard Hot 100, rounding out out a busy and very successful year for Russell Brand's wife. Thanks to a series of chart-topping track, she now ties with Michael Jackson‘s Billboard Hot 100 singles record and she’s been performing around the world on her California Dreams tour. She was also included on Barbara Walter's list of 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 'This year has been very intense,' Katy told Barbara Walters during her interview. '[I'm] just kind of like holding on to the rocket for dear life, hoping that I don’t get bucked off.'
