Pop star Katy Perry has carved a niche for herself in the glamorous world of celebrity by adopting the clothes and hair styling of 1940s pinup models.
That is according to West Georgian, which highlighted the importance of colour and contrast to her constantly changing ensemble.
The US newspaper noted that the I Kissed a Girl singer also makes great use of various hair accessories to complement her style and is not afraid to make statements with her earrings and bracelets.
It suggested that the success of her look lies partly in its ability to strike the right balance between her hair colouring and makeup.
"She often wears a fiery red lip colour with subtle eye makeup to keep her lips the focal point of her face," the West Georgian said.
"This look goes compliments her dark hair, and is also draws inspiration from the 1940s era."
Katy Perry burst onto the scene last year following the release of her album One of the Boys. To date, it has sold more than 2.5 million copies around the world.
