Singer Katy Perry was busy breaking in hubby-to-be Russell Brand to the Californian social scene as she dragged the TV funnyman to a charity gala in Beverly Hills. Ms Perry was a bit touchy-feely for a black tie event, but the approaching nuptials provided the ideal excuse as she cuddled up to Brand, who was certainly not complaining.

So much so that they seemed to have coordinated their clothes to provide the perfect picture. The couple stood in stark contrast with one another, the singer at her lovely best in white while Brand went for an all-black ensemble, scarf and all. The soon-to-be-weds rubbed shoulders with several big names at The Art of Elysium's 3rd Annual Black Tie Charity Gala titled simply 'Heaven'. The crowd of the evening ranged from actress Juliette Lewis to burlesque and fetish star Dita Von Teese.

TV personality Nicole Ritchie was showing off her newly found curves to good effect, and musician Moby and actress Kate Bosworth posed for the cameras as well. Juliette Lewis's reemergence in the Hollywood scene has been greeted with glee by her fans - the actress spent most of the recent past fronting her band Juliette And The Licks, playing at gigs including V Festival 2007. But her comeback Hollywood gig would have many an actress foaming at the mouth - filming for actor Mark Ruffalo's directorial debut Sympathy For Delicious alongside Orlando Bloom and Laura Linney.

Ms Ritchie had her fair share of admirers at the gala - motherhood certainly seems to suit her. The actress was gorgeous in a full-length boho chic dress, and showing off some of her latest line of jewellery. The mother-of-two's new brunette hairdo completes the picture - a far cry from the bird-like frame she gained notoriety for from her socialite days. Brand bore up well in the company of this plethora of socialites and stars, but just what was going through his mind through the course of the evening is anybody's guess.
