Katy Perry  is all set to light up the stage at the  2010 MTV Movie Awards! The Awards will premiere on MTV Australia. The pop princess will perform her new smash hit ‘California Gurls’ from her upcoming album ‘Teenage Dream,’ live for the very first time.

The sexy songstress says, “I’m proud to represent the West Coast at the MTV Movie Awards in the magical glow of the Hollywood sign with my new single ‘California Gurls.’ I hope it will be the theme song to a lot of summer loving, I know it will in my house.”The popstar will be joined by comeback queen Christina Aguilera , who will perform her raunchy new single ‘Not Myself Tonight.’ And the cast of this summer’s blockbuster ‘Grown Ups,’ which features Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aubrey Plaza, will be along for the ride too.

Also taking to the stage to present golden popcorn awards this year are Hollywood stars Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Zac Efron, Jonah Hill, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove, Shaun White, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and everyone’s favourite reformed ladies man Russell Brand.

Continuing it’s tradition for being one of the most shocking awards shows on TV, this year MTV are proud to announce three new categories – ‘Biggest Badass Star,’ ‘Best Scared-As S**t Performance,’ and ‘Global Superstar.’
