Pop star Katy Perry has already told the world that she’s a “California Gurl” and in her new video for “Teenage Dream,” she offers up additional evidence. It’s becoming increasingly clear, even to the haters, that the singer behind the hit song “I Kissed a Girl” is going to be around for awhile. She’s established a brand that stands for a kind of unrestrained, throwback sexiness often delivered with.

A wink–and in her new video her aesthetic, and the vocalist herself, are on full display. The “Teenage Dream” clip is filled with coastal highway drives, sun-kissed parties, skateboarders, sweaty makeout sessions, underwater makeout sessions, and young buff bodies. Perry’s new album, also titled “Teenage Dream,” is due out August 24.
